Fallas 2012. The street (1)

One of the main points of his festivity is that it’s lived in the streets. Each quarter is a “Falla” and organizes activities during all the year. But these have their culmination in the week ending in March, 19th. During that week, each Falla places a monument made in papier mache that will be burnt in the night of San Jose. These monuments criticize events or people that have occurred during the year and people move from one to another to see and compare. It’s like a giant path of human ants moving from one Falla to the other. So, a lot of life is around the streets.

But not only this. Music is around the street with the bands, open markets with traditional sweets and refreshments, parades… All of them provide such a unique atmosphere to the city during these days.
